Scholarships for Veterans

Veterans pursuing 2 or 4-year training or degree programs are eligible to apply for Post 911 scholarships.

Dependents

Scholarships for Dependents

Dependents of veterans pursuing 2 or 4-year training or degree programs are also eligible to apply for Post 911 scholarships.

JROTC

Scholarships for JROTC cadets

JROTC cadets are eligible to apply for the Don DeMars Memorial Scholarship designated for qualified JROTC cadets regardless of the veteran status of their parents or guardians.

The Vernon Hunter Memorial Scholarship

The Vernon Hunter Memorial Scholarship is open to all veterans, children of veterans attending LISD schools, including Charter Schools, who are pursuing post-secondary education.

The scholarship offers a total of $2,000 for the 2022-2023 academic year with award distributions occurring over two semesters beginning in August 2022.

The scholarship is named for Mr. Vernon Hunter, a Vietnam veteran, and resident of Cedar Park who lost his life in 2010 when a plane flew into the Echelon Building in Austin, Texas. Post 911 proudly bears his name as part of the official Post name.

The Matthew Morris Memorial Scholarship

The Matthew Morris Memorial Scholarship is open to all veterans, and children of veterans attending LISD schools, including Charter Schools, pursuing a post-secondary education.

The scholarship offers $2,000 for the 2022-2023 academic year with award distributions occurring over two semesters beginning in August 2022.

The scholarship is named for SPC Matthew Morris, a US Army soldier from Cedar Park, Texas who fought in Operation Iraqi Freedom while assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Ft. Hood, TX. SPC Morris lost his life when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device. Post 911 proudly bears his name as part of the official Post name

The Don DeMars Memorial Scholarship is open to all JROTC cadets attending LISD schools, including Charter Schools, pursuing post-secondary education.

The scholarship offers $2,000 for the 2022-2023 academic year with award distributions occurring over two semesters beginning in August 2021.

The scholarship is named for Mr. Don DeMars, an Air Force veteran, and long-time Post 911 Adjutant.
